“IF YOU ARE AN EAGLE, YOU HAVE TO SOAR; ONLY WITH EAGLES”

Blog contributed by John Q. (real name withheld) for us to read and enjoy.

Start-

All good performances whether in school or in a real workplace, start with clear goals. If you know where you are going, there is only one path that will get you there. And it’s the path where most eagles have taken. Borbon National High School, we believe, is the home of the eagles where services and commitment to quality education to the students are commendable.

Being one of the graduates of Borbon National High School, I pride myself in the information and knowledge I had acquired in my four years stay in high school. Although privilege is and will not always be bestowed to everyone, but still, I am proud that I was able to find work after high school. I was happy, on one part, that some of my high school friends (who are worthy of mention) were able to pursue their higher education.

I can recall, when we have our impromptu gathering at Lumapas— was so glad to note, that I can now address some of them as Teachers, Engr., MBA, RN, Hon, Capt., etc. while others kept their simplicity even to the change of time. Some of us who choose not to continue our college degrees were in fact enjoying the welcoming gestures and fair treatment from our peers who have gone far in their quest for knowledge.

Being a graduate of this beautiful institution of learning, whatever our present achievement will be, must think and act like an eagle— an eagle that can soar high.  High above all life’s setbacks and prove that solid ambitions, far-reaching beliefs and hard work are much stronger that any challenges combined.  So that at the time of acute difficulty, we can still manage to prove, again & again, that we are capable of rising above the challenges that others stumble over.

We have to remember that whatever choices we have made, it is important that we have set clear goals at the outset, for us to achieve prosperity at the end.

After all, WE, on our own, are the masters of our fate.

Options are always there for the taking but its better if we choose the right one.

LONG LIVE BNHS EAGLES! LONG LIVE AMBITIONS!  LONG LIVE THE TEACHERS OF BNHS!

GRAND ALUMNI EVERYONE? A CALL TO ALL BNHS ALUMNI!

When was the last grand alumni held at BORBON NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL?

Fourteen or fifteen years back perhaps.   As we remember…it was held in 1997 when the first DECADIC ENCOUNTER was initiated by groups of active alumni from batch 1992-1993-1994-1995 and 1996.

It was organized in a manner that all batches share active participation in the grand celebration.  Tables from each batch were put up and decorated in festive moods and as agreed from the organizing committee.  Superb presentations received instant reward that very night— wala na lang ko ka-remember kong kinsa to nga batch ang nidaog.

Foods and snacks were sponsored by generous alumni coming from monetary contributions.  All I can say that all attendees were more than willing to make that night memorable for them.  Sounds & lights add glitter to the gathering and the disco afterwards was so exhausting, not to mention, for the oldies who attended that first ever encounter at school.

Those were few of the activities I remember from our ever-changing memory, “dili na jud ikalimod, nagkatiguwang na  ta ani, mao nga tinuod gyud ang panultihon…ang kalimot walay GAHOM”.

To address calls from passionate alumni who wanted to have a GRAND ALUMNI CELEBRATION to happen again after long years that is why we are asking every graduate of BNHS to join the KRUSADA right here and right now.

We’re extending this plea to all GRADUATES OF BORBON NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL bisan asang suok sa kalibutan man kamo gipadpad, amo kamong giagni sa paghatag sa inyong panahom ug ideya aron maumol ang tinguha sa uban nga magkapundok-pundok ang tanang ni-gradwar sa atong pinalanggang eskwelahan sa Borbon.  For it’s time to come home again to our dear ALMA MATER.

Please share your ideas here so we can start organizing the grand alumni homecoming.  Thank you very much.
